Knowledge is power! The knowledge you gain during Childbirth Education helps to empower you during your pregnancy journey. The classes will provide you with information about labor, delivery and the postpartum period. Also, information is received in such areas as nutrition, breastfeeding, labor support, postpartum support and infant care support just to name a few.
My goals are to provide you with educational resources that are evidenced based. Therefore, giving you the confidence to decide and advocate for yourself and your baby to have the best birth experience possible. To provide you with emotional support by genuinely nurturing you through the labor and delivery experience. To provide you with physical support through proper comfort techniques such as massage, position changes, birth voice empowerment and much more.
My goals are to provide you with the type of support you desire. There is nothing like bringing your new baby home and it is truly a tender time of continued bonding. You may feel a little overwhelmed but knowing you have a doula there to support you can be a reassuring factor. As your doula, I will support you with your own physical recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, sibling interaction, or light housekeeping if there is a need for that as well
As an experienced mother and grandmother, the journey to becoming a certified doula began with research and supportive conversations. Once I decided to give it my all I have not looked back. .
Helping a mother-to-be discover her birth voice is such an amazing thing. It can be a quiet hum or a bold tone but when she is ready to call her baby forth into her arms there is no stopping her. Her strength is unmatched.
Honoring the miracle of childbirth is what HarmonyGrace Doula Services is all about. Professionalism and non-judgmental support are provided. I am a mother to mothers and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
"Studies have shown that having a doula as a member of the birth team decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%, the length of labor by 25%, the use of oxytocin by 40%, and requests for an epidural by 60%."
